NEW YORK, June 21, 2017 /Weed Wire/ – The Cannabis Tech Group (CTG), the bi-coastal pioneers whose mission is to bring together the cannabis and technology industries together in a way not yet seen on the East Coast—will hold the first in a nationwide series of events on Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in Soho at Galvanize NYC.

CTG’s inaugural professional conference, “Cannabis + Analytics,” will serve to demystify the legal cannabis market, and highlight how technology—specifically data and analytics—is emerging as a driving force in industry evolution: from grow, transport, and dispensary management, to finance, investing, marketing, and more.

A diverse selection of top industry thought leaders will share their experiences and insight throughout an evening of panel discussions and networking. Featured speakers/guests at Cannabis + Analytics include Leaflink CEO Ryan Smith; Mindful CEO Meg Sanders; New Frontier Data EVP John Kagia; Electrum Partners SVP Pamela Johnston, NHHC dispensary owner Chanda Macias; and many more.

“It was a challenge find East Coasters who were interested in working on a cannabis tech project, whether because of perceived legal or social risk,” says Lulu Tsui, CTG co-founder and founder of AMBR Technologies, a software service designed for cannabis processors. “We formed CTG to help normalize perceptions and culture around cannabis for the tech community and connect folks who want to create amazing solutions for an industry that’s full of potential and opportunities.”

Cannabis + Analytics is the first in a series of CTG events on the East Coast and across the country that seeks to further destigmatize the legal cannabis industry and position CTG as a professional network for business and technology in the growing cannabis market, with a focus on women and people of color in the New York City area. Panel topics will include “Brand Impact: Predictions, Trends, Data And Analytics” and “Investments & Opportunities In Cannabis Tech Sector,” and detailed one-on-one interviews with Leaflink’s Ryan Smith and Mindful’s Meg Sanders. Panelists include John Kagia, Pamela Johnston, Chanda Macias, Mitch Kulick (Steep Hill Labs), Johnny Snipes (EIC, The Smokers Club), Ebony Costain (CEO, The THC Guide), David Goldstein (CEO, Potbotics), and Louis Sagar (CEO, Alchemist’s Kitchen).

“As a recent NYC resident, I quickly saw how little the tech community was aware of the opportunities in cannabis,” says Jacobi Holland, CTG co-founder and Managing Director of Dutch Compass Consulting, a business intelligence, software and big data consulting company with an emphasis in cannabis companies. “There is a fear and resistance to the industry because of its negative stigma.”

CTG’s Cannabis + Analytics, Thursday, June 29, 2017, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Galvanize NYC, 315 Hudson St, 2nd Floor, New York City.
