On April 15, 2016, Marley Natural, Bob Marley’s official cannabis brand, launched its line of cannabis and lifestyle products at retail locations in San Francisco.

Harborside Health Center, SPARC and CBCB are the first three collectives to offer Marley Natural cannabis flower and oil to medical marijuana patients in the Bay Area.

Marley Natural cannabis flower and oil comes in four categories: Marley Green, hybrid strains with balanced levels of sativa and indica, combining cerebral effects and physical relaxation; Marley Gold, sativa strains offering energetic and cerebral effects; Marley Red, CBD-rich strains providing therapeutic effects without the psychoactive effects of high-THC strains; and Marley Black, indica strains offering physical relaxation effects that create a full-body high.

“We are fortunate to be living during a promising time of positive change, especially with regard to cannabis and how people understand it. My father would be so happy to see so many people appreciating the natural, healing power of the herb,” said Cedella Marley, Bob Marley’s daughter.

According to Tahira Rehmatullah, General Manager of Marley Natural, “Marley Natural operates with a strong social conscience, and we source our products in an environmentally and socially responsible way, as we believe Bob would have wanted.”

In addition operating Marley Natural with a strong social conscience and locally sourcing the sun-grown cannabis, the company is giving back to Bob’s home country.

“We are also committed to giving back to Jamaica and communities harmed by prohibition through Rise Up, which will grow in scale and scope as we expand our operations globally,” Rehmatullah explained.

Marley Natural cannabis made its debut in February 2016 at Green Goddess, LAPCG, and Buds & Roses in Los Angeles, and is now available at a total of nine collectives in LA and San Francisco.
