Delaware Senate blocks medical marijuana expansion

Concerns from a special interest group and the Delaware Senate torpedoed a bill that would expand access to Delaware’s medical marijuana program.

The measure would’ve allowed sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder to forego the current requirement to get a psychiatrist’s recommendation for a medical marijuana card.

It’s chief sponsor, Senate Majority Leader Margaret Rose Henry, says the Department of Health and Social Services asked whether it could include a recommendation from a social worker instead.
