On July 10, 2016, NORML announced that Allen F. St. Pierre, executive director of NORML, a consumer advocacy organization focused on reforming state and federal cannabis laws, had submitted his resignation to the NORML board of directors. Board member Randy Quast has been named acting executive director while the board’s search committee finds St. Pierre’s replacement.
According to NORML, even though St. Pierre has become a new father at the age of 50 and has resigned as executive director, he will still be a member of the NORML board of directors.
“We are all indebted to St. Pierre for his long and valuable service to the organization, helping lead the organization and the legalization movement through some difficult times to the glorious days of legalization we are currently experiencing,” said Keith Stroup, NORML Legal Counsel.
St. Pierre joined NORML in 1991 as the organization’s communications director and he grew with the organization, serving as the deputy director and then ultimately as the executive director, a position St. Pierre held for 11 years.
