On Oct. 19, 2017, the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program and the Department of Commerce announced that the application for prospective cannabis processors is now available, with the application period running from Dec. 4 to Dec. 15.

For interested applicants, the application is divided into two sections, with the first section covering specific details on the business owner and proposed property and the second section addressing non-identifiable information such as business, operations and quality assurance plans, among others.

There is a $10,000 non-refundable application fee, a $90,000 certificate of operation fee for successful applicants and a $100,000 annual license renewal fee.

The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program may award up to 40 processor licenses. The state is expected to award 24 cultivation licenses in November and it’s still accepting applications for the 60 available dispensary licenses until Nov. 17.
