The Natural State to Vote on Arkansas Medical Cannabis Act

On July 7, 2016, Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin confirmed that the Arkansas Medical Cannabis Act has received enough valid signatures to appear on the state’s ballot in November.

The Arkansas Medical Cannabis Act, submitted by Arkansans for Compassionate Care, is the first of three potential medical marijuana initiatives to make it on the ballot. The other two competing initiatives include the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act and The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment of 2016.

ACC has requested that the organizers of the competing initiatives cancel their campaigns to join the ACC’s campaign. According to KARK, “Melissa Fults, director of Arkansans for Compassionate Care, said polling showed that if two marijuana initiatives appeared on the November ballot, they would certainly fail.”
