MONTREAL, Québec, Dec. 16, 2016 /Weed Wire/ — The officers of the Police Department of the City of Montreal (SPVM) conducted today in operations to six cannabis outlets in the Montreal area.
The police have arrested ten people to date. The suspects face charges for drug trafficking and possession for trafficking purposes. These will be met by the investigators over the next few hours.
According to a provisional assessment, the police seized 18 kg (40 lbs) of cannabis, money and equipment.
Operations were conducted by the Northern Division Investigative Services officers with the support of several units of the Service. The investigation is still ongoing.
The SPVM recalls that the sale of cannabis for recreational purposes is illegal.
