On Jan. 10, 2017, a bipartisan group of South Carolina lawmakers, led by Sen. Tom Davis, introduced a bill to the state Senate to legalize the cultivation, sale and consumption of medical marijuana for patients suffering from certain debilitating medical conditions.
A recent survey of Minnesota’s medical marijuana patients found 90 percent said the drug was beneficial. The survey, conducted by the Minnesota Department of Health, queried 435 patients using medical marijuana. The pollsters discovered only 10 percent of medical marijuana patients experienced “little to no change.”

In South Carolina, the Senate Medical Affairs Subcommittee voted unanimously to advance S672, a bill that would legalize medical marijuana in the state. The five-person panel came to the decision after a two-hour hearing where panel members heard from both opponents and supporters of the bill.
Last weekend, for the second year in a row, an organization called Team Cannabis had a very large presence at AIDS Walk San Francisco. Interestingly enough, it hadn’t always been that way. The recent AIDS Walk, then, was a reunion of sorts for the medicinal cannabis and the AIDS communities.
