WASHINGTON, April 5, 2016 /Weed Wire/ — The Council of the District of Columbia has scheduled a vote today on legislation that restricts adult marijuana use in the District, prohibiting marijuana consumption everywhere but the home.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27, 2016 /Weed Wire/ — Today the Council of the District of Columbia Committee on the Judiciary voted to dilute the will of District voters who approved Ballot Initiative 71 by passing unnecessary legislation largely outlawing adult marijuana use in the District.
On Jan. 5, 2016, the Council of the District of Columbia voted 7-6 to keep the ban on private marijuana clubs; however, it went to a second vote.
When residents of Washington, D.C., legalized recreational marijuana with Initiative 71, they knew there was going to be trouble. Congress has a notorious habit of meddling in the District’s affairs.
Cannabis legalization is often the stalking horse for a variety of different issues. When asked what the legalization is about, some will reply, “Investment opportunity.” For others, it is about making medicine available.
