Athletes on a regular basis are voicing their support of medicinal cannabis after experiencing relief of pain, inflammation and stiffness without the use of pharmaceuticals which can cause damage to organs, drug-dependency and other negative side effects. In addition to the many physical benefits reported from cannabis use, the mental benefits have been praised as well by those suffering from anxiety and PTSD.
The 420 Games is helping to change negative perceptions and shift old paradigms that are quickly becoming obsolete as the public grows more open to the benefits of cannabis use. Only a positive light can come from people gathering in comradery to take part in a day of healthy physical activity among peers who have the same goal in mind, to safely and responsibly continue using cannabis for the many benefits they have long enjoyed.
In addition to well-known names in sports, The 420 Games event series has garnered mainstream media attention from Newsweek, TIME, The Atlantic, Elite Daily, and sports publications such as Runner’s World. Presented by Weedmaps, the event series includes many big name sponsors such a Lagunitas Brewery, Dixie Elixirs, Eaze and OpenVape.
“People are eager to come away from an era of prohibition and misinformation, into an enlightened time. It’s an awesome thing to see mainstream media writing about us in such a positive light, another sign that the times are changing for the better.” – Jim McAlpine, 420 Games Founder.
PLEASE NOTE: Organizers of the run remind participants to respect the park rules of no smoking on site.
