On Oct. 9, 2015, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed assembly bill 266, commonly referred to as the Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act. AB 266 was co-authored by Rob Bonta, California’s first Filipino American state legislator, and went into effect on Jan. 1, 2016. Bonta, representing the cities of Oakland, Alameda and San Leandro, is slated to give a keynote address and overview of the new California regulations at the Marijuana Investor Summit in San Francisco this March.
“We’re ecstatic to have Assemblymember Rob Bonta as one of our keynotes. He is one of the most influential legislators in the most influential state for the cannabis industry. You don’t want to miss this!” said John Downs, Managing Director of MJIC Inc., parent company of Marijuana Investor Summit.
This is the second Marijuana Investor Summit, following the premier event in Denver in April of 2014, which drew more than 1,000 people and 100 exhibitors. The Marijuana Investor Summit in San Francisco is a unique opportunity to learn about the state of cannabis in California directly from those shaping the legal landscape.
