On July 1, 2016, Blum & Poe, a contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles, announced that Richard Prince, an American painter and photographer of outsider aesthetics, is collaborating with High Times on the magazine’s special “Trippy” issue in September 2016, including an exhibit at Blum & Poe from July 26-30.
As a part of the “Trippy” issue, High Times will incorporate some of Prince’s original compositions from his “Hippie Drawings,” a series he created in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In conjunction with the special issue, Nameless Genetics has cultivated a custom marijuana strain for the occasion and Prince has designed custom rolling papers.
On July 26-30, Prince’s exhibit at Blum & Poe will feature a curated collection of magazine covers from High Times, spanning 1974-2014. Green St. Agency, a cannabis creative agency, has contributed to the organization of Prince’s upcoming presentation.
