Bob Marley Marijuana Finally a Reality

Well, it was bound to happen eventually. If you have ever smoked cannabis, then you have probably heard of and listened to the legendary reggae singer Bob Marley.

In smoke circles around the country, cannabis enthusiasts have always talked about how they would love to smoke a pack of “Marleys” once marijuana is legal and now that dream will be fulfilled.

That’s right, for 2015 the Bob Marley estate has announced their plans to launch a Bob Marley-inspired international cannabis brand, appropriately name Marley Natural.

The family has paired with the Seattle-based company Privateer Holdings. Privateer Holdings is a cannabis-based investment company that also owns the cannabis strain review website Leafly. Brendan Kennedy, chief executive of Privateer Holdings, spoke with the BBC about the soon-to-be released brand.

“It was just a natural fit between Bob Marley and this product,” said Kennedy, “You know if you were to look for the most famous human being who ever walked the face of the earth related to cannabis, it would be Bob Marley.” Indeed, it is nearly impossible to speak about cannabis without Bob Marley coming up at least once.

According to the LA Times, Marley Natural will be offering “heirloom Jamaican cannabis strains inspired by those Bob Marley enjoyed.” When they say “by those Bob Marley enjoyed,” they don’t mean cannabis strains they think he would like. Marley Natural will actually be offering strains that have the same genetics as the strains that Marley smoked. Now, you really can get high like Bob Marley.

In addition to selling cannabis, the Marley Natural brand will be offering other products such as hemp-infused oils and creams, as well as pipes and other cannabis accessories inspired the ones Bob Marley enjoyed.  They don’t make mention of edibles as of yet, but one would have a difficult time believing that the Bob Marley cannabis brand would not at some point include edibles.

The primary marketing efforts of Marley Natural will be in Colorado and Washington since these are the only two states with an operational recreational cannabis market. Although Alaska and Oregon have legalized recreational marijuana, their recreational market has not officially started.

While Washington and Colorado will be the main focus of marketing at first, Marley Natural will still be available in most states where cannabis is legally available.

When Marley Natural hits the shelves of your local dispensary, don’t expect them to stay on the shelves for too long. If you do not smoke cannabis, and you’re just looking to invest, you may not understand the magnitude of this brand.

People used to talk about Bob Marley branded cannabis like people in East Berlin used to talk about the Berlin Wall falling. Every cannabis user will at least want to try it, and that means huge profits for those involved.

You don’t have to be an investment guru to realize that Marley Natural would be a great brand to put money into, and with distribution networks still being set up it may not be too late. Regardless of whether you are able to jump on this giant money train or not, Marley Natural stands to stimulate the market like you’ve never seen before; regardless of where your money is in this market, that’s good for your bottom line.
