KAHNAWAKE, QUEBEC, June 2, 2017 /Weed Wire/ — The Mohawk Council of Kahnawàke wishes to inform the community that a 30-day Community Consultation on the possibility of Kahnawàke entering the legal cannabis industry and what the Community will do regarding pending legislation in Canada to legalize Cannabis begins today, Thursday, June 1st through June 30th.

A major component of the consultation includes a Technical Survey, which will be carried out by randomly calling telephone numbers listed in the Kahnawàke Directory. If your number is not listed in the Directory and you would like it added to the pool to potentially be called, please contact MCK Public Relations at 450-632-7500 by Friday, June 9th.

The educational phase has been ongoing since mid-May. A web page containing all pertinent information has also been created at

All input received during this 30-day review, including the technical survey, will be reviewed by Chief and Council in early July.
