Grow Lights Chosen for Massive Las Vegas Commercial Cultivation Facility
GÖTEBORG, Sweden/SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 22, 2015 /Weed Wire/ — Heliospectra AB (OTCQB: HLSPY, FIRSTNORTH: HELIO), a world leader in intelligent lighting technologies for plant research and greenhouse cultivation, and American Cannabis Company, Inc. (OTCQB: AMMJ), a full-service cannabis industry consultant and provider of proprietary and preferred products, have successfully sold one of the largest LED cultivation installations in the world to a Las Vegas, NV cannabis licensee.
Phase I of this contract represents over $672,000 in revenue for Heliospectra’s LX601C lamps and is to be installed during Q4 2015. Heliospectra, American Cannabis and the cultivation operator have designed a cutting edge facility that will deliver high quality end product at lower cost, with a substantially lower carbon footprint than the current HID (high-intensity discharge) or HPS (high-pressure sodium) lamps used in similar operations.
Staffan Hillberg, CEO of Heliospectra AB, commented, “Not only is this our largest contract to date, it represents a sale to one of the largest indoor, horticultural LED installations in the world. With traditional agriculture and archaic lighting technology taking a back seat to in-door, greenhouse and vertical operations, growers are increasingly investing in technology that results in lower costs of goods sold. With our client’s operation in an environmentally sensitive location, we can demonstrate how Las Vegas grow facilities will save electricity and conserve water. Equally as important, the Heliospectra LX601C technology delivers the improved yields the market demands. Finally, our unique heat dissipation solution, dynamic software and ability to collect data will have a substantial impact on our client’s bottom line.”
About Heliospectra AB
Heliospectra AB (OTCQB: HLSPY, FIRSTNORTH: HELIO) (www.heliospectra.com) specializes in intelligent lighting technology for plant research and greenhouse cultivation. The Company’s lighting system provides an effective and durable technology for cultivating greenhouse and indoor plants by combining several different groups of versatile light emitting diodes (LEDs) with optics, remote sensing techniques, and a robust heat dissipation solution. This proprietary setup gives growers the ability to control the intensity and wavelengths of the light emitted, creating a spectrum specifically adjusted to different plant species and growth stages to better facilitate photosynthesis. The complete, highly-engineered lamp produces crops that look better, taste better, and have a longer shelf-life than those grown under HID lamps. The technology not only reduces energy consumption by up to 50%, but also helps stimulate growth characteristics and improve plant quality. Other benefits include reduced light pollution, lower mercury use due to the avoidance of traditional HID/HPS bulbs, and less HVAC investment and monthly expense requirements.
