AUSTIN, Texas, April 27, 2017 /Weed Wire/ — More than 200 high net-worth investors from around the world will gather in Austin, TX at the Arcview Investor Forum to hear pitches from dozens of promising cannabis companies in a “Shark Tank” like forum. The Arcview Investor Network includes more than 625 accredited investor members who have put more than $115 million behind 141 cannabis-related companies.
Two days of pitches are taking place at the AT&T Conference & Education Center Tuesday, May 2nd and Wednesday, May 3rd where high net worth investors will review pitches from dozens of companies who competed fiercely for the slots from an initial field of hundreds of applicants. Jim Estill, Canadian entrepreneur, investor and CEO of Danby Appliances, and Mark Blumenthal, founder of the American Botanical Council, will deliver keynote speeches.
Texas has already passed a law allowing non psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD) for residents and will soon consider whether to legalize medical cannabis use.
“If you would have told me even just a few years ago that Arcview would be hosting a multi-day cannabis investment event in Texas that included legal cannabis companies from Texas, I would not have believed you. But it’s now clear that both the public and the investment communities all over the country and even the world are waking up to opportunities in this world-changing industry,” said Arcview CEO Troy Dayton.
