New Cannabis Business Accelerator Launches in Oakland

On July 20, 2016, Ackrell Capital, an investment bank, and Vator, a tech platform for startups and investors, announced the launch of CannaVator, a 10-week cannabis business accelerator program in Oakland, California.

“There are tremendous opportunities for launching innovative companies, products and services in both the recreational and medical markets of this rapidly growing industry,” said Mike Ackrell, Founder of Ackrell Capital. “We believe that CannaVator will provide a launching pad for ambitious entrepreneurs to develop their businesses and succeed in the cannabis industry.”

CannaVator is accepting applications for its first accelerator class until Aug. 15, as the first class starts on Sept. 13. According to CannaVator, participating companies will receive capital investment.

“Companies that are accepted into CannaVator will receive invaluable strategic advice from Ackrell Capital, Vator, and a roster of mentors and industry experts, as well as access to a broad range of partners to further develop their businesses,” added Bambi Francisco-Roizen, CEO of Vator.
