As Gov. Chris Christie travels the state on an aggressive campaign to end an epidemic of heroin and prescription drug overdoses, more than two dozen New Jersey citizens came to the capital city Wednesday to offer him a new strategy.

Instead of addictive opioids, let doctors recommend marijuana for patients suffering from chronic pain.

The Medicinal Marijuana Review Panel heard the plea from Keesha Sanchez of Spotswood, whose rare neurological disorder has made her “a horrible, angry person.”
