Shoppers Drug Mart may have yet to receive its medical cannabis license from Health Canada, but it is moving full steam ahead to make sure it has secured multiple Canadian cannabis suppliers to provide its customers with products, pending approval of the licensed producer application submitted by its parent company, Loblaw Companies Ltd.

On Feb. 27, 2018, Aurora Cannabis (TSX:ACB) announced its agreement to supply the Canadian pharmacy chain with Aurora-branded medical cannabis products, making it the fourth Canadian cannabis supplier to enter into an agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart.

“The Shoppers and Aurora brands are trusted to deliver high quality products and excellent customer service,” said Terry Booth, CEO of Aurora Cannabis, in a press release. “Partnering with Shoppers Drug Mart, Canada’s largest pharmacy retailer, is yet another validation of the scale and maturity of our company, and of the demand for Aurora’s medical cannabis.”

Beyond Aurora, Aphria (TSX:APH) and MedReleaf (TSX:LEAF) announced agreements with Shoppers as 2017 was coming to a close and then Tilray announced its agreement with the pharmacy retailer at the beginning of 2018.
