The revamped Michigan medical marijuana market is beginning to take shape. On Dec. 4, 2017, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs officially released the rules that govern the state’s medical marijuana program.
LANSING, Mich., Dec. 4, 2017 /Weed Wire/ – The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has issued emergency administrative rules for the purpose of implementing the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA). Signed by Gov. Rick Snyder and effective today, these rules shall remain in effect for six months.
In an about-face, Michigan regulators said Wednesday that medical marijuana businesses can stay open while seeking a state license as long as they have been operating with the approval of their local community.
Business owners hoping to enter into Michigan’s medical cannabis industry will likely need a large amount of start-up capital in order to become licensed.
