Pennsylvania medical marijuana program has taken a critical step forward by granting its first-ever medical marijuana dispensary permits.
HARRISBURG, Penn., June 29, 2017 /Weed Wire/ – The Pennsylvania Department of Health today granted 27 dispensary permits for medical marijuana dispensaries. The permittees will now have six months in which to become operational, before they can begin dispensing medical marijuana.
The Pennsylvania medical marijuana program is getting closer to being operational. On June 20, 2017, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced that it had issued 12 grower/processor permits, with the clock ticking on permittees to have their facilities operational within six months before they can start cultivating medical marijuana.

On Aug. 4, 2016, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Health announced that John J. Collins had been named the director of the state’s Office of Medical Marijuana.
