The Delaware medical marijuana program is making safe access easier for those who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. On July 13, 2017, Delaware Gov. John Carney signed Senate Bill 24, removing the original law’s requirement that PTSD patients be authorized specifically by a psychiatrist.
Post-traumatic stress disorder may become the next condition approved for the New York medical marijuana program after state lawmakers gave their approval on June 20, 2017.
ALBANY, NY, June 20, 2017 / — The New York State Senate on Tuesday passed legislation sponsored by Senator Diane Savino (D-SI/Brooklyn) to add Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to the list of qualifying conditions treatable with medical marijuana in New York State.
On June 5, 2017, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper signed Senate Bill 17, approving post-traumatic stress disorder as a qualifying condition for the state’s medical marijuana program. With the addition of Colorado, there are now 20 states, plus Washington, D.C., that allow medical marijuana for PTSD.
On May 9, 2017, the New York Senate Health Committee passed Senate Bill 5629, which would consider post-traumatic stress disorder an eligible condition for the state’s medical marijuana program.
